Architects

On this page, we gather the architects who breathed life into Hadar Carmel neighborhood. They molded a fresh perspective, birthing novel currents and theories in architecture, both local and worldwide. Yet, for many, only remnants of decaying structures linger in their memories.We've divided these architects into two groups. The first comprises those who resided and toiled within Hadar Carmel, leaving an indelible mark on its physical space. The second group consists of the "guest" architects, who graced the neighborhood with the creation of a single building or a few limited structures.

In general, most of the architects who designed buildings in the neighborhood were born in Eastern Europe. They later studied in Western Europe and came to Palestine in the early 1930s. On average, the architects who worked in Hadar HaCarmel were around 45 years old.
